The Ensenada Clinic
For more than fifteen years our CMDA chapter has been working with Dr. Ramon Vidauri, a Christian Mexican physician who, since 1985, has provided medical care to the poor of Ensenada without charge.
A clinic is being built which will be staffed by Dr. Vidauri, a volunteer Mexican dentist, Dr. Victor Anorve, and other volunteer Mexican doctors.
Dr. Anorve has been providing dental care for the poor of Ensenada since 1994.
The clinic is owned and operated by the Jireh Association, a Mexican non-profit organization, which is dedicated to serving the poor at no cost or low cost while ministering to their spiritual needs.
The top floor of the clinic is for multipurpose use including serving as a dormitory for short term medical-dental mission groups from the USA.
THE HISTORY
Until 1999, Drs. Vidauri and Anorve had a clinic in Ensenada where they could treat the poor including people from the outlying villages.
For various reasons they had to move out of the clinic and relocate.
New property, centrally located in Ensenada, has since been purchased and a new clinic building started.
Members of our CMDA chapter, churches in Ensenada, the Potter's Clay group from Westmont College and others have thus far donated over $80,000 and volunteer labor towards its completion.
THE NEED
The clinic is nearly complete. The top floor has been finished and windows have been put in the first floor.
All utilities have been installed. Still needed for the lower level are a security door for the front, tiles for the floor, and grading and paving of the parking area.
Once the door is in place we will be looking for office, medical, and dental furniture, equipment and supplies.
Thereafter, it will have operational expenses of about $3,000 per month.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
